This weekend in Tlaquepaque which is a part of Guadalajara there is a Torta Ahogada and Birria festival. Toras ahogadas is the local famous food from Guadalajara. If you translate it, it would mean something like drowned sandwish. The reason is because the sandwish which is filled with meet is drowned in a red sauce till it is really soaky.

The whole weekend there are all kinds of things to see and do. Here an overview

Ballet Folklorico from the University
Ballet Folklorico from the municipal
Many bands where several are Banda bands (banda is a type of mexican music that is very populair under the younger crowd for dancing)
Bands are called Ok la Banda, Los Gatos de la Sierra, Banda Ritmo Calliente, Mariachi Juvenil Tapatio and some more
Some comedians and some luchadores (american wrestling kind of thing but better)

Of course a lot of typical food from the state Jalisco.
