we´ll arrive at san diego airport on dec 3th, around 8.15 pm. on the next day we will rent a car in tijuana for going southward to la paz (baja california). is it advisable to stay in san diego for the night and crossing the border not before the next morning? or should we go directly to tijuana and find a place to sleep there? (would be approx. at midnight)

and: whats the best/cheapest way to get to tijuana from san diego airport by public transport?
