Hello! Two of us are looking to do three weeks in August in Belize and to tent it most of the time. Does anyone have any particular spots they recommend or would like to dissuade me from? Any advice about camping in Belize would be appreciated. We are from Canada. Thank you.

The main problem with camping in Belize is that there are not many places to do it and you would carry around equipment that you would get little use out of. Look at the follolwing web pages and see if you can find any campgrounds:

There is one camping ground ground on the Benque road in the Cayo district called Inglewood camping grounds.

QED, Yorkie. The place describes itself as "The only RV Hookup & Tent Camping in Belize". It sure does not make me want to haul around a lot of camping equipment for just one place. It's not even somewhere you would likely want to stop, being near Benque Viejo. Sheesh.

You need to visit us at Barton Creek Outpost. Take a look in Lonely Planet and Rough Guide. Lonely Planet named us one of the top 5 highlights of Belize. We have free camping for people with gear and we rent gear (tent and sleeping bag) for $10US a night. We serve three meals a day, have a bar, showers, nearby jungle trails and one of the best couple of swimming holes in Belize. Shoot us an email and I'll give you more info, BelizeBritts@yahoo.com.
