Cousins from 3 continents and their 7x 10-14 yr olds searching for a cultural location for a 1-2 week holiday in early July.Costa Rica is at the top of my list but others concerned about rain/humidity. Can anyone advise of your experiences there at this time. Is the rain just for a few hours in the afternoon? Is the Caribbean too wet at this time so should we be looking at the interior and the Pacific? Can you advise a resort/hotel with beach/pool (and some surf?). Any advice appreciated - even on another country.....Mexico??

Wunderground.comhas the ability to show you the normal weather in any given area, based on historical data.

It will be the rainy season in that general area, but a couple hours of rain in the afternoon is no big deal if you are nursing a beer and reading a book. I visited CR once and it was okay, but in all my travels I have never returned.

You need to figure what sort of place you want to visit. CR has little that is pre-columbian and no indigenous people to speak of. However, it has jungle hikes and such.

Hello, July is a great time to visit Costa Rica. The driest region is Guanacaste at the pacific side. Normally it rains an hour in the afternoon or night.
Saludos
