Hey all i am heading to rio de janeiro in a week and i was wondering if anyone had any information on staying in a area called lapa, i heard that is a super fun area with lots of live music and street parties.

I was reading on some blogs about a hostel in the center of lapa called sambavilla, i was wondering if anyone knows anything about the place and if it is a good´/clean/fun place to stay at?

Hey that is so funny that the person below was mentioning sambavilla i actually just stayed there about a month ago the hostel is great!!!

Its clean all the staff are friendly and fun, it is right in the middle of lapa, which is like the party and clubbing district of rio de janeiro and on fridays there is a crazy street party right at your front door so much fun!!!

plus the hostel is only 19R a night, and it has free a/c, internet, and breakfast!!!

Seriously check out sambavilla hostel, i can´t tell you how much fun i had staying there!!!
