There are now three buses a week between Celendín and Chachapoyas from the empresa Virgen del Carmen, instead of two. They leave on tuesday, thursday and sundays, in the morning, around 9 or 10 am.

The other way around (Chacha-Celendín) leaves on tuesday, friday and sundays.

The owner promised me it will stay this way (don't blame me if he doesn't keep his promise!). In case you want to get up-to-date information, their phonenumber is: 076-555238.

The condition of the road is never very good, but it seems like the rainy season is ending by now, so it only gets better. And the views are spectacular...!

Price is more or less S/. 35,00, and it takes more or less 12 hours. You can also get off in Leymebamba (nice museum, Laguna de los Condores) or in Tingo (just below Kuelap).

There are at least 4 buses from Cajamarca to Celendín daily, and also combis. Especially early in the morning and in the beginning of the afternoon. It takes more or less 4 hours.

There are lots of hostels in Cajamarca and also in Celendin, Leymebamba and Chachapoyas it's easy to find a place to sleep. It's a bit more difficult (but not impossible) in Balsas and Tingo.

Have a nice trip!
