i am flying into santiago near the end of june to travel the andes for 6 months (snowboarding, hiking, camping, etc.)....i intend on purchasing a camper van of some kind in santiago when i get there to allow access to some less accessible areas....does anyone have information regarding foreigners purchasing a vehicle in chile (eg., procedure, permits, registration, insurance, etc.)

your help would be greatly appreciated, as there is simply no information on the internet that i can find to help me prepare...
