i wonder if any one can help!! i plan to go to s.a for 5 mths what do u think i need in the way of spending money i budget weekly i want to go horse riding sking rafting etc also all offers are greatly recieved, i am travelling across the land also i smoke and drink to a degree

I would say that in most parts of S.A you can get by on US$15 - US$25 per day if you live and travel modestly. Chile, Ecuador and Brazil are more expensive than Peru and Bolivia. So it depends on how much time you wish to spend in each country. Alchohol and cigarrettes are quite cheap in South America.
