Greetings all travelers.

I'm planing a trip to Peru in July/August
I'm thinking of spending around 5 weeks total in Peru and Chile . I checked
with some travel guides and budget traveling according to them is <b> no more then 30$ </b> a day for accommodation + food . Could anybody confirm that with me ?

I never traveled in south America but did many backpacking/tent/sleep-bag trips in Europe and US . I want to keep it as cheap as possible . Oh and my Spanish sucks :-)
