Me and a mate plan on buying a car or motor bikes in B.A. and doing some extensive exploring of brazil,agentina and chile.Can somebody tell me the deal with buying a car or a bike and then taking it across borders ie costs,permits,bribes.

just wondering if you and your mate had any luck buying a vehicle and getting appropriate permits, insurance, registration, etc.???

a friend and i are flying to santiago at the end of june and plan to do the same thing in chile, but information on foreigners buying vehicles in chile is impossible to find....
