Hello,
I will be in Quito in May, and i want to do a month of spanish immersion school. I'm looking for a good school which also offers extra curricular activities such as sightseeing and salsa lessons, as well as opportunities to meet other travelers.
there are so many on the internet, i have no clue where to start. Can anyone recommend a school?

heya I'm afraid I can't help you with you're question but I see no-one else been able to either so I assume you've understandably gone elsewhere for recommendations! If you have and have found reliable advice....could you pass that advice on to me? I'm planning something similar and don't want to go asking the same questions!

I attended Vida Verde Spanish School in Quito for 7 weeks in May-July of 2002 and it was very good. The one-on-one instruction was cheap and the staff helpful. It is co-owned by an american and an ecuadorean as well. They offer great excursions and homestays too. www.vidaverde.com

I spent 6 and 1/2 months, (yes and I expected to stay in Quito only 1 month!) studying at the Guyasamin Spanish Academy in Quito.

It was excellent. The owner, and Ecuadorian, which is rare, is Luis Mena. Tell him Todd Levins recommened you......I don´t recieve a commission... believe me, just would like for him to know I am trying to help him and his school. Their cirriculum is excellent, and other schools have stolen it. Luis created it during his post-grad work studying Spanish as a foreign language for adults.
