For anyone interested in eco-tourism in Peru´s sacred valley, I recommend checking out Haku Trek. Haku Trek is relatively new project in Chicón, Peru just outside of Urubamba. Local guys lead hikes around the Chicón glacier, which is absolutely stunning. The proceeds give the Chicón locals an alternative to cutting down the forest beneath the glacier. I will be in Urubamba for the next five weeks and am planning on going on several hikes with Haku Trek.
