I am interested in which companies for long-distance bus trips in Argentina you would recommend. Have you had problems with any of them, or can you give some general advice?

I have recently built a small webpage with information about bus travel in Argentina and would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!

For example, Andesmar and Via Bariloche have been recommended to me many times. But they do not cover all destinations - so what about the others?

Though I've only travelled from the micro terminus in BA as far as Plata del Mar on a couple of occasions the best company on that route is Toni Tours The busses are nicer and it was recommended by a waiter at a hotel. Interested to see what you can come up with especially as I'm planning of doing BA-Ciudad del Este-Asuncion-La Paz-Lima @ Easter 2009. Maybe wishful thinking esp the Asuncion-La Paz bit. But miles better than flying BA-Lima.

Hope we get this discussion going, since it is hard to compare all those bus companies - in my opinion the bus terminal in BA (Retiro) is a mess.

Recently I went from BA to Salta with Flechabus, because it was the biggest company for this destination. I first chose the top category (suite) with fully reclining seats, but was a bit disappointed since I am quite tall and couldn't stretch out completely. So on my way back I saved a few bucks and chose the second best category (cama), which for me was not less comfortable. You also get the same service, since the seats are on the same bus only at the lower level. Food was ok, and my impression of Flechabus in general is quite positive.

Mar 07 I travelled to cities within Paraguay and Feb 2006 travelled Asuncion C. de Este. both with the company caqlled Nuestra Senora de Asuncion. They seem to have the best, cleanest buses.I may be wrong but I think NSA also run the BsAs -Asuncion route.
