Prices in North Carolina seem to be extremely high ($75 for each Hep A, $98 for yellow fever) - does anyone have a suggestion for a place to get inexpensive vaccines. We travel a lot in the states, so it should be pretty easy to drop into a clinic somewhere near a major metropolis. Our RTW begins 9/06 and I know we need to get started on some of these soon!
thanks for your help! cierra |

If you're planning to visit Southeast Asia, then you'll probably spend some time in Bangkok. If so, I highly recommend Mission Hospital (easy to find). They are a world-class hospital with an American (Dr. Nick) Immunization specialist.
A few months ago I got my (10 year renewal) immunizations (virtually everything anyone would need) for under $100 USD. Below is a list of the most common vaccinations (you may not need all of these): Cholera (optional, and you don't get a lot of protection from it); Japanese encephaliti; Tetanus and Diphtheria; Typhoid (injection or in tablet form); Hepatitis A (series of 2 vaccinations, over 2 months); Hepatitis B (series of 3 vaccinations, over 6 months--HOWEVER, the hepatitis A and B vaccines are now available in a single vaccine for those who need both, it means one less shot); Measles/Mumps/Rubella; Polio; Meningococcal Meningitis; and Yellow Fever. For more information on "the shots" you may wish to visit http://laptophobo.com/qdg/immunizations.htm. Hopes this helps. Ricardo www.LaptopHobo.com working | living >>remotely |
