Question:
The Tick Alert campaign is warning travellers to 16 central and eastern European holiday destinations this summer to protect against Tick Borne Encephalitis (TBE), a viral disease that can lead to meningitis and in serious cases result in paralysis and death. TBE is contracted via the bite of infected ticks, which are found typically in rural and forest areas. Details and a map of TBE endemic countries are available at www.masta.org/tickalert.
