Hello!

Just wandering if anyone can offer any advice or share their experiences of taking camera equiptment abroad when backpacking. I'm planning to take an SLR outfit with a few extras & possibly a monopod. Do they tend to get in the way/do you tend to store your gear in your backpack at all/if they're stored in a camera bag do they look like a big 'steal me' sign? Also how do you cope with preventing heat damage to films etc and the xrays at the airport?
