I'm not sure this really fits here but I couldn't really find a better category...
I'm considering buying a penknife (just a cheap one, nothing fancy - mainly want it for the corkscrew) but was wondering about the legalities of carrying it around with me. Does anyone know if I would be breaking the law to have it with me in either the UK, France or Norway? Thanks! |

I'm not really sure about it but I know that most airports are strict with stuff like this. I think you should file a document for this possession when traveling.

It depends on the place your visiting and the type of penknife your bringing.
Let say it is less than 2 inches I think its ok.. This message has been edited. Last edited by: fire_lady, |

Hello Jenn,
With regards to France and Norway, I don´t know what the regulations are. However, as far as I remember, a pen knife with a blade of less than three inches is legal in the U.K. This ruling may have been changed, so therefore one should claify the above with the British Embassy. Best wishes Kevin:-) |
