Does anyone know of a way by boat from Turkey to Egypt, while avoiding Israel?

I have looked into going first to Rhodes or Cyprus and then along to Port Said in Egypt but the internet sites are pretty sketchy and with the recent unrest I am doubting whether the boats are even still running? Has anyone done a route of similar nature before? or know of a place where I can find an answer.
Thank you, your help is truly appreciated.

Thanks

hi there
There are no regular ferries currently running between Cyprus and Egypt; haven't been any for many years now. If they ever restart, Viamare will list them.

However, there ARE boats from Cyprus to Egypt - they are mini-cruises run by Louis Cruise Lines - but, so I understand, the boat authorities take everybody's passport as they board the ship and only return them once you get back to Cyprus again. They do this specifically to stop people using the ships as one-way ferries!

So it's no go, I'm afraid.

I did this route overland a few years back, and it's pretty straightforward if you want to miss out Israel, and just go through Jordan and Syria. There are a couple ferries a day from Aqaba, Jordan to Nuweiba, Egypt that will skip having to cross Israeli soil.

Well worth the trip. Jordan is amazing!

The ferry is a fast way to go there. You'll also enjoy the whole trip with amazing sites to see and explore.
