I'm traveling on an eastern Mediterranean cruise which has its last stop at Alexandria Egypt before returning to Citavecchia, Italy. I would like to visit my daughter who lives in Tel Aviv. It has been suggested to me that I fly to Amman Jordan and get to Israel from there. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best/fastest/reasonable cost way to get from Alexandria to Tel Aviv? Thanking you in advance.

It may not be the fastest method, but there is a long-established bus service between Cairo and Tel Aviv run by Mazada (www.mazada.co.il). Alex to Cairo takes around 3 hours by train; you could stay overnight in Cairo and catch the bus in the morning.

I'm taking Jordanian airlines from Alexandria to Tel Aviv. It is part of a larger trip, but I think that leg was 200-300 USD, and takes about 3 hours.
