Question:
Any up to date information on attitudes towards the British in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan would be much appreciated.
Any hotel recommendations?

We are a couple of ancient backpackers who prefer to do our 'own thing'rather than go on an organised tour.

I was in Egypt in March last year, no problems whatsoever.

You will no trouble what so ever. My wife and i backpacked around Egypt for 3 months without incedent. Just avoid the same places you would in your home city.

I have just come back from a trip to Egypt, no problem travelling around as a Scot........Egyptian people couldn`t be friendlier........stayed in an excellent B and B in Cairo.......there website is www.nileview.com
They were stars and helped us suss the rest of our trip.......well worth a visit......you`ll love it!
