Hi,
I've studied 2 and a half years for a degree in Persian (and anthropology) but I'm still pretty terrible when it comes to speaking. I'm planning to go to Iran this summer to do some work on my thesis but it looks like I should still spend some of that time in a language programme! So my question: can anyone give me info on language courses in Iran? I've found two programmes so far; one at the university of Esfahan and one at the Center for Persian Studies in Tehran. Does anyone have experience of these courses? Are they worth the (for me rather huge) fees? Moreover, does anyone know of a course in another city in Iran? I'm aware that there are quite a lot of foreign students these days in Tehran and Esfahan and I don't want to be tempted to speak English with them. I guess that well-educated Iranians may also want to speak English with me, so the smaller and more provincial the place the better! Any advice? Thanks, Linds |

Dear Linds,
The best place to study Persian is Shiraz the heartland of Persia. I have 2 other friends who also want to study Persian in Shiraz University. |
