Hello,

I'm keen to visit Iran and wonder if there are any homestay programmes/cultural exchanges in the country that anyone knows of, originating from the UK? I like the idea of staying with a local family and seeing life from that perspective...

Hi Mey,

Iran is a very nice country. I highly recommend you go there.
For getting your visa, you'd better have a letter of invitation. You can have it from a travel agency in Iran. One reliable travel agency is Pars Tourist. They have a web site www.key2persia.com
They can also have some kinds of tours that can meet your needs of living with Iranian family called nomadic tours. I suggest you to have a look on their web site and be in contact with them and get required information regardig your trip to Iran.

Wish you a nice trip.
