I have received some conflicting information about whether you can get a Jordanian visas at the airport when you arrive by plane in Amman. Some people say this is now possible whereas other sites are saying you have to get a visa in advance. I am on a South African passport.

Can somebody who has been to Jordan recently confirm that you can in fact get a visa when you arrive at the aiport? How much does it cost and do you need (printed) photos?

Can you also get a visa for Oman at the border if you arrive by bus from the UAE, or do you have to pre-apply?

The best way for you to know it to ask it in Oman embassy in UAE, as for Jordan I can advise you the same, call or write to Jordan embassy and they'll explaine you everything: do you need visa or not. Here you'll find addresses of Oman and Jordan embassies and info about their visas:

good luck

Thanks - it turns out that South Africans do NOT need visas to enter Jordan. At Amman airport's visa counter they told me to go straight through immigration ; very easy. Still not sure about Oman, I never got that far.
