I leave this november for a year long round the world trip with my boyfriend.

We're headed to thailand first for 3 weeks(any Bangkok hostel/hotel recommendations welcome as i cant find anything nice and cheap at the mo!) then going to Oz, first to Cairns/Port Douglas, then down the coast to Brisbane to visit my brother and his brother...overall spend about 7-8 months in Oz.

Then 6 weeks or so in NZ, a couple of weeks in Fiji, then maybe 4 weeks in America (LA, San Fran, Las Vegas, NYC)

I will have saved £4.5k (HOPEFULLY!) which i realise is not a lot for a year, but i do intend to get a working holiday visa for Oz and working as much as possible whilst in australia to pay for hostels and food etc.

Do you think this trip can be done on £4.5K (plus money earnt in Oz) or am I kidding myself?!

Only a few months to go and Im really starting to panic. Im going to get a bank account in Oz and get a tax form so im not taxed at 47%, and im doing a car boot sale to sell off all my dvds, cds, etc...even considering selling my cat!(actually, i dont think my mum would like that...)

Any advice, (even if its "are you crazy?!") would be really really appreciated!
