Planning to travel RTW in June next year. The following places I have decided although not sure in what order I should do the SEA and Australia legs.
London - St Petersburg (trans-siberian via Mongolia) to Beijing - overland in China to Hong Kong... it then gets hazy Want to visit Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and Phillipines and in Australia (Darwin, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne)...not sure in which order. Can anyone help me get some kind of order??? Thanks in advance. It it feels good - just do it! |

Hi Elle,
I'm planning a similar trip, departing from Amsterdam, only we are not going to Australia, so only South East Asia. A logical route would be: London to Moscow by train (we found out that Amsterdam-Moscow is quite cheap) or plane. Then train to Beijing, see China, then head south to Vietnam, go on through Laos and Cambodia to Malaysia, continue southwards to Indonesia. Then you can see the southern part of Indonesia on your way to Australia. I don't know anything about Australia, so I can't say anything useful about that. As for the Philippines, they are a bit out of the way. Probably the easiest and shortest way to get there will be by boat or plane from southern China or Vietnam, but I son't know what the options are. This message has been edited.
