Question:
i'm planning a rtw trip starting in Jan 2003 and a basic plan is: South America, NZ, OZ, Thailand etc although this is flexible. I'm currently going solo but would love to have some travel companions, male or female, for part or all of the trip. Let me know if you're interested

Hey Samantha

I'm going to be in Australia around the end of Feb if this fits in with your plans. Send us an email to discuss. Good luck with the planning.

Hi Samantha,

I'm Heather, 23, a graduate from London, currently on gap year. I'm also planning a RTW trip and aim to be setting off mid Jan 2003. Although I haven't booked anything yet I am keen to see Mexico/S America, Aus/NZ and SE Asia. Like yourself - don't really want to go solo!!! I start a new job in August 2003 and so have about 6-7 months to spare. Fairly flexible about which countries I actually visit - just want to make the most of the time before settling down to work!
If my "itiniery" sounds similar to yours send me a message at heathercjt@hotmail.com.

Cheers

Heather

Hi Samantha and Heather,

I'm trying to plan a RTW trip too, but don't know have the foggiest idea how to much to budget. Itinerary pretty much the same as yours, and I will be gone for a year. Is 30USD a day decent?

Did you ever find out anything useful on insurance?

Cheers

Ian

Hi all,

I am travelling RTW starting in mid-Jan 2003. I am going the "other" way round... i.e. I am going South Africa, SE Asia, Oz, South America. It pretty much works out summer all the way round doing it like that, and I start off in a country where the main language in use is English (call me a softy, but it's the first time I've travelled, so I want to ease into it).

If anyone is interested in doing this route, or even some of it (or might cross half-way and fancies meeting up to exchange info on where each other has been), let me know and maybe we can meet up for a beer in the sun.

Cheers

Glenn

If anyone is interested in meeting for a beer somewhere that would be fun.

Hi all
I am currently in Thailand, Ko Samui to be precise and I'm travelling alone through Thailand for another 3 weeks and then Malaysia for a week or so (so I don't overstay my visa) then back up to Bangkok. I have just come back from northern thailand, hill tribe trecking, elephant riding etc which was pretty cool but the rest of the group I was with have now all gone and I am left all on my lonesome and I desperately need some company to share good times and accomodation with (cheap accomodation for 1 is a disgrace - more expensive accomadation between 2 is a luxury)
I was in Oz for 8 months and I thought there would be a similar hostel network. Sharing a beachhut on my own is no fun!
All replies more than welcome
