Hi,
I'm taking it in September, Moscow to Beijing with stops at Lake Baikal (in Irkutsk, Siberia), and Mongolia... I recommend you also look at these sites: That Man in Seat 61 Trans-Sib Page (G&R International) Moscow based Hostels Of Asia Site, Trans-Sib Page and, from the Beijing end: Monkey Shrine Trans-Sib Specialists and I recommend the books: Amazon: Lonely Planet Guide to the Trans-Siberian Railway Amazon: Trans-Siberian Handbook by Bryn Thomas (Trailblazer Guides) Good Luck, and Happy Trails Philip 'Just land the damn thing' Buzz Aldrin to Neil Armstrong, July 1969 [This message was edited by deadstone on February 25, 2003 at 12:19 PM.] |

Hello again,
thanks Paul and Philip for those replies! I just thought I'd let you all know how we've done it. We have it all booked (& half paid for!) and fly on the 12th September to St Petersburg and then on to Moscow, Beijing and the rest of the world! We are doing the trans-sib with the Russia Experience and have booked the whole thing via STA, who were very helpful indeed! It fits in fine with no problems combining it with a RTW ticket, basically we are doing St P'burg-Bangkok overland! Roll on September! |
