Hi,

Not posted anything in a while.. i was supposed to be going round the world with 2 friends next year but due to work commitments e.g. we have had to scale this down a lot..here's where we defiently want to go -

Australia first ( to sydney)
then New Zealand ( we have a friend in new zealand)
then new york.

If anyone has a ny tips e.g. that would help - we are planning to go in March next year.. the two main things that we are worried about though is the flights and accomodation..

has anyone found a really good hostel in sydney?
or a good place to stay in new your?

also which airlines have people used to fly from lonodn to sydney??

thanks guys!

El

Not stayed there myself, but I've heard good things about the HI hostel in New York (103rd St at Amsterdam Avenue) www.hinewyork.com . It's not very central but is handy for the subway. I don't know about Sydney.
As you are only visiting a few places on your RTW, you should be able to get a cheap basic fare. Speak to Trailfinders or Travelbag.
Have a good trip!

hi el

the major trunk route between heathrow & sydney is BA9 with most aussie ex-pats using it. only one re-fulling stop at bangkok(when new generation A380s & Dreamliners come on it will be direct -fun into sydney KS durnig autumn storms, too!!!) Scout the bucket shops for the best deals
Try Coogee bay -its the nexy bay down from bondi with lots of busses to bondi junction for trains downtown, good beach n surf, tabs bars restaurants etc. you can find backpackers hostels easily on arrival.
