Question:
Hi,

I'm planning a solo RTW trip and was wondering if anyone had been on/ have opinions on the overland tours advertised via STA travel, the ones where you travel as a group and follow a set itinerary with the accomodation being booked by the operator? I realise this forfeits spontaneity but as a pretty unexperienced traveller they seem to offer added security and company of group travel.

What do you think?

Has anyone been on one?

Are the STA tours worth being booked in advance or are they a rip off and available cheaper via the hostels?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!
