Me and my girlfriend will be travelling RTW starting Nov 2003 taking in SE ASIA/S AMERICA(undecided yet,HELP),OZ working for 6/8 months then returning via the US.

Can anybody suggest what would be a realistic daily budget for sleep n' eats during our journey.Bearing in mind that we like a beer and prefer to sleep in a bed rather than camping!!

Hi there, im not in Oz at the mo, so this is my own assumpsion (sorry about my spellin) but ive spoken 2 peeps who'v travellin Oz lately, have said to me you can get cheap accomadation for around $20 a night, so i'd reckon about AS40-50 a day .. but mayb im wrong .. im thinking it should be more

I travelled round Oz in 1995 and spent on average $1000 a month. My girlfreind and I are going round for 5 months next year. We've planned to budget on $1200 a month minimum. My advice would be to save as much as possible and maybe try and borrow a bit from mum 'n' dad etc. Worth a try :)
