we (two) are planning a round the world 12 month trip taking in India, Nepal, Cambodia, and New Zealand. We intend to do some high altitude trecking/mountaineering en route.What to take? What to hire when there? Most info I read (aimed at those going to a place specifically for trecking trips) says take a light-weight tent and kerosene stove as stuff one can hire is unreliable and/or heavy...although does one really want to lug all that gear round the globe?Has anyone done that kind of thing as part of a longer more varied trip? What were your experiences? Any info. gratefully received!!
