Long story short.
A friend and I purchased a RTW ticket from a leading travel agency (very popular with students and under 26’s) in addition to a years insurance and Oz visa (over 3k worth of custom between the 2 of us) One of our flights was not taken so tickets posted back to them Confirmed both tickets received Friend received his refund soon after tickets received by travel agency Mine lost by the travel agency, though ticket not needed by airline for travel agency to process refund according to the relevant airline Nearly 5 months to receive my refund and 2 weeks before I returned to the UK Travel agency take up to 16 days to reply to my e-mails Still trying to resolve this situation and still no reply to my e-mail sent to 2 customer service managers nearly 2 weeks ago. Will probably escalate to director level Point of story. I am by no means advising people which company they should or should not use but am merely sharing my experience. The travel agency in question have given me the worst level of customer service I have ever received and I would never, ever, use them again or recommend them to anyone. Why don't you write to the press? The Saturday travel section in the Daily Telegraph has an "agony column" for problems of this nature. Write to them with the details and they may be able to resolve it for you.
