I'm going to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, then to Oz - Cairns and the Whitsundays overland down the coast to Sydey, then to New Zealand.
I don't want to miss out on the best experiences they have to offer and not just the usual sites - what's the BEST thing you've done in these places? |

Hi there
Well bet you cant wait to go. I went travelling in 2001 and had a fab time. I went with my hubby to Oz, Bali, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. So here goes. Thailand- Bangkok- For me the highlights were visiting the Kings Palace, amazing! Going to Patpong to the night markets and bartaring with the market holders! Koh Samui- Wonderful island, just rent a bungalow out by the sea for about 800 -1000 baht per bungalow per night Vietnam- Only went to Saigon (run out of dosh) very moving experience, lots of war remenants but people are lovely. Felt sad here but want to go back this time to the south. Oz- You must must must fly to Darwin and do the National Parks. Kakadu National Park amazing! The waterfalls are stunning and the scenery amazing so much space!! Hire a car if you can or go on a tour to see the JIm JIm Falls. Singapore- Very clean but found that there was not much to do apart from shop! (Electrical goods good)I would not go back there as not my scene but glad I have been. Raffles hotel bit of a let down but agian dont knock it till you've tried it!!! Go to these big shopping malls and find a place where there are loads of stall to choose from these are much cheaper! ANd leave your chewing gum at home you will be fined if you have any! Oh well hope that helps let me know if you need any more advice. |
