I'm currently in the early stages of planning a 1 year RTW trip. On my 'must do' list are India and S.America.
My (very loose) plan so far is to go to India/Nepal for 3 1/2 to 4 months, followed by S.E.Asia (Bangkok to Singapore) for 2 months, Australia for 1 month to six weeks, then S.America for 4/5 months. Having looked at the RGs for these destinations, the best time to go for all of these places is from November to February. So, if I start in India in, say, January, by the time I get to S.E.Asia it will be very hot and start of the rainy season. Can anyone advise if I will be ok in this heat, given that I have acclimatised in India for the previous four months (and that I'm used to rainy days in Manchester!), or should I forget this idea, and plan another route where I wont encounter the very hot weather / rainy season? Basically, any advice on how I can plan this trip avoiding any unbearable weather would be appreciated. I'm open to any suggestions on varying the destinations or timescales. Thanks. |

Hello
Just a little advise re india. we were there 26th January - 6th March it was suitably hot and towards the end it was getting very hot into the late 30s. In the north of India it is colder and at night in delhi it gets quite cold. Nepal- they have massive problems with the king- he sacked the local government and tries to run the country himself which is causing a massive backlash- there are riots a lot of the time there. Vietnam is an amazing country. Best of luck |
