my partner and i are planning to travel next year for about 4- 6 months (possibly longer if we worked overseas). I am about to apply for leave from work (some long service leave (paid)- and leave without pay)and i have to decide in the next 2 days on the dates. Id like to leave as soon as i could but my long service becomes available mid June 2006. My only concern with going then is the costs and crowds. Seems to be busy in a lot of places then.
Ive only ever travelled during the off seasons (cheap, can get rooms easily..but dam cold). Will it be way more expensive and crowded? Should I go a bit later? (i am a teacher so i was going to go when the school term finished June 16th, rather than mid way through a term). But i dont have that much saved yet so i am concerned about the costs.

Possible places we are thinking of going include: China, Japan (maybe...if we can afford..) to Eastern Europe/Mediteranian Europe back to Asia /SE Asia- home.

Was also considering working in the UK ( i can get a Uk passport). Not sure when???
If teaching i think school starts in september in the UK??
