Have just returned from a great fortnight in Kos, which I would recommend to anybody who has not yet visited - wonderful weather, friendly people and plenty of good food available.
The one problem was getting marooned on Patmos because it was too rough for the hydrofoil operated by Laumzis to make the return trip. Par for the course, perhaps. But the rudeness of the owner - particularly to the Greek pilgrims - and his flat refusal to refund any of the fare was an unpleasant surprise. So be warned: there are, afterall, alternatives that I shall make a point of using in the future. |

What are the alternatives?

You could try Aegean Flying Dolphins (hydrofoils that go from the Marina-end of Kos Town), the Dodecanese Express (catarmaran) or one of the massive ferries bound for Pireas (although the sailing times are not very convenient).

My Name is Mr. Lian Tarawe from Malaysian Part of Borneo and am planning to make a cruise in the mediterrenean sea next summer 2008.It interests me about your trip.Is your trip on your own ? I mean sailing on your own or travelling in big ship?
Is there any other means to experience sailing in the mediterrenean sea? Lian (liantarawe@yahoo.com) |
