Not sure if I am getting this whole message across the cyberspace thing right....

Hi

Two seriously stressed out girls are looking for some R&R in Sicily... would really appreciate any recommendations on accomodation thats off the beaten track, quiet, clean and friendly.

Also any other ideas on eating, getting about, beaches and sights.

Thank you

Donna & Kim

Hi Donna,

Myself and a friend are also going to Sicily on the 26th July for two weeks. We are staying in a hostel called Casa Marconi in Palermo for 2 nights. However, I don't think booking accomodation is that necessary apart from in the resorts of Taormina and Cefelu. We are also planning to visit Catania and western Sicily, among other places.

I understand booking ahead in Taormina is necessary in July and August.

If you are going the same time as us maybe we could meet up for some cannoli!!

You might try an agriturismo. Agriturismos are a great Italian institution. They're usually rural farmhouses that produce all their own food which they serve for lunch and dinner. They also provide accommodation at good prices (usually). You could try this site:

http://www.enexa.com/agriturismo/

"Richiedi preventivo" means obtain a quote to see how much you'll have to pay, they'll get back to you and then you can book a room if you want. You aren't obliged to eat there although I'd recommend it at least once as the food is fantastic. You can eat and drink all that you can for about twenty euros!!

Alternatively just go to www.google.com and type 'sicilia agriturismo' to get loads of alternative sites.

Hope this might help you!
