Hi all,
I will be in Russia in April for two weeks and plan to stay 1 week in Moscow and the second in St Petersburg. I'm planning my accomidation for my Visa and was wondering if 1 week in each of the cities was to short for homestays. Are homestays generally for long term periods or are week stays common? Would it be better to stay in a hostel but people have recommended Homestays when speaking to them. What is your opinion? If you stayed in either a hostel or a homestay would you recommend where you stayed and if so why; or would the place you stayed be a BIG NO, NO! Thanks Graham |

I think that Russian culture can be overhelming if you will be unlucky. My opinion is to rent apartment without sharing rooms with owners. I can refer you to proven place : St Petersburg apartmentsTell that you know Randy from California.
