Did not know which continent Russia is on so if its ok i thought i'd post this here. Basically I am kind of planning a trip to a couple of countries, call it a mini round the world if you will and my plans include going to Moscow and then from there to USA. What i was wondering is, are there many commerical flights in Eastern Russia because i want to get a train across Russia but so far the only way i have found of getting to the USA from the East would be to go down to China and fly from there? Which is the best option over all? (By the way I am planning on heading for LA in America if that helps).

you could do several things but heres by oppinion...fly into St Petersburg (see the sights there) & then get an over night train to moscow (see the sights there) & then get the train from moscow to beijing (the trans-mongolian railway) this goes via, outback russia, siberia, outer-mongolia & then into china...6 1/2 days on an awesome journey! :)

we used these last year when we did this trip & it was awesome & really cheap! £160 pp 2nd class (tis the only way to travel) & the tickets got delivered to our door...we also booked a taxi with them from St Petersburg airport to the hotel & also hotel reservations is St Petersburg & Moscow!
