Is this a bad time to go? How is the weather usually then... unfortunately it's the only time we have vacation and want to go there but didn't want to if it was going to be miserable... Hot is okay, just not COLD.

Thanks for the info!

I've never been to Southern Spain (or indeed Spain) in January, but I think you can expect mild weather with plenty of sunshine. It probably won't be HOT and evenings are likely to be cool.

My g/f was in Granada in the early 90s in Jan and they had snow one morning, which excited the locals because it was the 1st they'd seen for years, so take some warm clothes just in case.

I live in Southern Spain and sometimes the weather can be crap. But then again, it can be really nice. Hopefully, you'll get lucky. My advice would be to bring a range of clothing from bikini to raincoat and be prepared for all possibilities. Chances are you'll get a range of weather over the course of the 2 weeks. What areas are you planning on visiting? If you have any questions you can reach me at latopaz@yahoo.com.
