I can't find any book or website which explains the ticketing system on the cv.
We'll be staying in Pompei for a week and using the cv to travel round the bay. Which tickets should we ask for, and where? What are the prices?
Any help would be appreciated.

Naples lies in the Campania region and the local government administer ticketing for the transport network. There are a number of providers inc the cv who operate a couple lines, trenitalia, the city council who do the bus, tram and trollybus networks as well a metro line and finally the blue busses who cover the Sorrento Peninsula. Single and multizone tickets are sold by the hour at all good newsagents and are valid for all agencies. Now, the small snag is that Pompey itself does not come under this scheme. Dunno why, but it doesnt. I've used the the Multizone tickets from Stazione Centrale to stations further down the line but they're not valid for Pompers. So you will have to pay the particular rate for tickets to/from Pompeii. Enjoy.
