I recently visited south Wales in the UK.Having stayed at hotels in Cardiff,Swansea,Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil I can without doubt recommend a hotel and its superb restaurant in Merthyr Tydfil.
It is the Tregenna Hotel, situated in residential area near the town centre. The welcoming hospitality and ambiance are amongst the best I have experienced in travelling the world these past 20 years. The restaurant is extremely popular with the local population.I was surprised to see at first,so many residents in the dining room and bar servery as most hotel visitors,in my experience, eat out.Not so at the Tregenna, where the food is of a superb home cooked variety and extremely varied.I also sampled Asian dishes prepared by a Filipino chef at the hotel. Highly recommended,if you have occasion to visit southern Wales, the the Tregenna Hotel,Merthyr Tydfil is worth going out of your way to visit. Martin Diegnan, |

Thanks for that, Martin... it's always nice to hear about the success stories out there. All too often it's the 'moans and groans' that we here...
