For Foodies, the place to go in Barcelona is the Mercat de Sant Josep, also known as the Boqueria. It's the oldest market hall in the city (it opened in 1840) - and one of the best in Europe. Hey Rachel, great tip, but I also reccomend the sant Antoni market for food, as it's usually half the price of la boqueria! It's not too far from la boqueria - just north west, ong the border of the old town. La Boqueria beats Sant antoni hands down for impact and variety (hell, they even sell bugs!) but price wise, everything else is just as good but cheaper in Sant Antoni!
