Its well worth getting to know the areas of London that will be hosting the games in 2012. You wouldn't necessarily associate Newham and Stratford with walking but the area lends itself brilliantly to a meander through the various environments of The Royal Docks, Green Street, Three Mills and the waterside wonder of the Thames. You can take in architecture, history, a fantastic meal in one of the many restaurants near the Excel conference centre and take the kids to Discover on Stratford High Street.
