All the info I find on the internet is for (over)-developed resort campgrounds. All my girlfriend and I need is a place to set a tent up for a night or two in simple campgrounds, a backyards, etc..

I've done a bit of poach camping in the U.K. but was wondering how it is received along the Adriatic or the Tyrrhenian Sea?

We are also looking into diving off Croatia and Malta if anyone has any info...

right; a few pitfalls. the farm yard dog. your backpack will appear threatening. the rozzos.Italian fric wont hesitate to frisk you at gunpoint. your missus mightnt take to the idea too mutch. boredum.Travellers cheques are the way to stash cash and travel insurance is a must. take a tabloid DVD youll probably be miles from the nearest irish bar. learning a few phrases of the lingo will come in handy as little or no english is spoken off the beaten track.there used to be a sound book knocking round in the 80s called the hitchhikers guide to Europe that had lots of advice on local customs etc. theres also one by an ex SAS on survival in the wild. (calmely dealing with rabid infested dogs etc)
all that notwithstanding i met lots of really interesting people when i used to hitch. they often went out of their way to help me on my adventures.
