We have extra days in Lisbon.I don't know what to do for a day trip outside the city.
I would like to visit Obidos but how far is it from Lisbon in hours -are there any buses and trains directly from Lisbon.
Is Evora too far to go from Lisbon?How long in hours- any direct bus or train? Basically, feasible in one day?

I really want to see either towns.

Technically, I know Sintra is closest - castles seem nice and all but disneyesque.Is there easy train or bus direct from Lisbon?I read we must get off one line within Sintra town itself and then catch another mode of transport to the castle.

I also wondered maybe a beach day trip from Lisbon : there are close city beaches that are nicer than others?
Or are public beaches exist at Cascais or Estoril?Which one is worth it? They both seem jetsetty and souless.Cascais - home of exiled monarchies.But is there a public beach for daytrippers?
