If you're intent on seeing cities, give Barcelona a try. Get an apartment for a few nights (try oh-barcelona.com or similar sites) as it's usually cheaper than most hotels and enoy one of the most wonderful cities in the world (no I haven't been to all of them).
There are adequate beaches 10 minutes walk from the city centre, great art, superb buildings and wonderful places to eat and drink. For a taste of the countryside, get the train and tram (and maybe the cable car if you can work out how the tickets work) to Montserrat and make sure you take the two hour track to the top of the mountain. And don't miss the amazing mercury fountain in the Fundacio Miro. |
