Thinking of exploring Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria whilst on my travels. Found plenty on the bare essentials, but what's the flavour of the place?
Anyone got any photos or any links to sites with photos?
Any particular recommendations?
If strapped for time where's best?

I travelled in Bulgaria for three weeks during September and October 2003 and had a great time. The must see places are Sofia, Plovdiv and the nearby Bachkovo monastery, Veliko and the Black Sea coast between Varna and Burgas - especially Nessebar. I timed my visit carefully to avoid the crowds on the Black Sea coast and I recommend you do this too. I am interested in history and architecture and all of these places had plenty to offer. For accommodation go for private rooms which cost about £5 pounds.buses and trains are very cheapand so is the beer! Have fun.
