Hi sorry me again.
I was wondering should if I should go through a company such as STA travel (ease but still 500 AUS $ for 4 days Moscow & St Petersburg) or should I go inderpendent and organise it my self. I have heard that Moscow is expensive therefore would it be cheaper to go through STA Travel or can I organise this myself (see the sights and train Moscow to St. Petersburg) much cheaper.
Thanks

Go with an organized tour!!! the tour operator can also deal with the entry visa stuff. If you do that alone it is a mess and it takes really a lot.

It is possible to travel independently in Russia and to get the necessary visas from the consulates in Australia. BUT it will take some research and effort as well as time to arrange this.

Legally it is not possible to arrange independent travel without prebooking all accomodations and such. Practically it is possible by working with a Russian travel agency.
