Hey guys,

Got a bit of a different type of query from the usual. I'm gonna be whisking my gf to Rome for a day trip (fly out early, back in the evening - I know, I know!) so we're probably gonna be there from 12pm to about 6pm. Thought we'd do lunch but never having been to Rome before, need some help in decided where to pop the big question.

I'd like somewhere private (have thought about booking a balcony area of a restaurant but no contacts to help me as I speak no Italiano) as I would be probably too shy to do it in a really busy/touristy area. Or somewhere with a gorgeous view would be lovely too. Any ideas anyone??? Any comments or thoughts will be really appreciated.

Many thanks,

R123.

head forth young man to the palatine gardens.
it is there you will find space
and time
to request your divine maidens hand
a variety of settings await your choice
and all will tell a story of the eternal city
from views of ruins surfaced in ancient times to
outlooks of rome modern.
easy to find: only a short trot from the collessium.

Hello Romeo,

Wow!, this is certainly an unusual question. I hope you can manage to keep it a secret even though you posted it on this site!

I have picked the following locations:

* Trevi fountain - It is very romantic location especially in the evening/night as the water is beautifully lit. I am sure she is bound to say yes!

* St Peter's Square - Try and find yourself a quiet spot and ask her. This would quite difficult as you avoid the huge crowds and pigeons!

* River Seine - Apparantly, the local authorities are going to set up a cruise/waterbus service along the above. Don't forget to buy a red rose.

* Colloseum - You could pose the question outside or inside this magnificient structure.

I hope that the above will be of use to you.

Good luck!

Thanks.

Kevin ;-)

Sorry Guys,

The River TIBER flows through Rome not the SEINE as previously stated. I am surprised no one noticed that mistake.

Best wishes
